Updating from ICS to JB will delete all the data and applications stored on your tablet. You will therefore need to back up everything you wish to save. The update will not be provided OTA; you will need to apply it manually.

ICS is an excellent operating system for your bq Maxwell Plus; therefore, if you have no particular need to do so, updating to JB is not obligatory. However, if you do decide to update your device, bear in mind that certain applications designed for ICS may not function correctly with JB until their developers have adapted them. One of the most common examples of this is WhatsApp: although this application is designed for mobile phones, it is relatively easy to use it on tablets running ICS and lower; however, it is rather more difficult to use it on tablets running JB. You must also bear in mind that once you have updated your bq Maxwell Plus to JB, it is not possible to return to ICS without the assistance of our technical department. Consequently, we must stress that you should only update to JB if you are certain that it will be to your advantage.
