bq is a Spanish company dedicated to the design, manufacture and distribution of e-readers and tablets. We design and develop our own devices, sold under our own brand. We also develop the official e-readers and their operating systems for Movistar (Movistar ebook bq), Casa del Libro (Tagus) and the Fnac (Fnac Electronic Book).
We are leaders in the Spanish's market. More bq e-readers are sold through physical outlets than any other brand and we sell more Android-powered tablets in Spain than any other company in Spain.
At bq our customers are our top priority: that's why 94% of them would recommend us. Our official blog, 'Me and My bq', will help you get the most out of your device with application recommendations, tutorials, guides and much more. We have over 400,000 visits per month and respond to all comments in real time. Our local support service boasts one of the highest satisfaction levels in Spain, at 95%, while our customers give it a rating of 9.4 out of 10.

During the first quarter of 2012 bq began marketing its e-readers and tablets in Chile.
Leaders in tablets and e-readers
According to a report produced in May 2011 by GfK, the market-research specialists, bq is the highest-selling brand of e-readers in Spain. According to another report produced by GfK on the market for tablets revealed that bq sold more Android-powered tablets in Spain than any other company during 2011
bq Cervantes, the highest-selling e-reader
bq Cervantes is the highest-selling e-reader in Spain. And the second highest-selling e-reader is also a bq, the bq Avant, according to a study by GfK published in September.
Opening up new lines of business and working with the best partners.
In 2011 bq developed and manufactured the first e-readers for the companies Movistar (Movistar ebook bq), Fnac (Fnacbook) and Casa del Libro (Tagus). In February 2011 Mundo Reader S.L. created Avrha, a new company specialising in accessories for electronic devices. During the third quarter of 2011 Mundo Reader S.L. acquired Luarna, the first 100%-digital publisher in Spain.
Expansion and internationalisation
During the second quarter bq expanded its operations into South America, opening offices in Montevideo (Uruguay) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). And although the company had been present in Portuguese markets via its strategic partners, in 2011 it also started to operate through the major points of sale in Portugal.
Prize-winning
The bq Avant XL e-reader was among the prize-winners at the Digital 01 awards, which are organised by the radio station Cadena Ser and whose panel of judges is made up of specialist journalists in the technology field.
Continued growth
In 2011 bq boasted a range of eight tablets (bq DaVinci, bq Voltaire, bq Galileo, bq Kepler, bq Pascal, bq Pascal Lite C, bq Pascal Lite and bq Newton) and five e-readers (bq Salgari Plus, Movistar ebook bq, bq Avant 3, bq Cervantes Lite and bq Cervantes 2).

The bq brand is born and booq is retired.
November 2010
Mundo Reader S.L. enters the tablet market with the booq Verne.
Still under the booq brand name, another six e-readers go on sale (Revolution Salgari, Pocket, Avant, Pocket Plus, Cervantes and Avant XL)
Mundo Reader launches its first e-reader under the booq brand name: the booq Classic.
Mundo Reader S.L. was the result of a collaborative effort between the members of the board of directors of StarTic Innovación and the CEO of Luarna, Antonio Quirós.
